The working programme required the following tasks; excavation works, bridge foundations, use of a crane lift, build of the bridge and finally, installation.
The new vehicle bridge structure was a single span steel monocoque construction with load distribution through deck plates above and below the main structural members. It was installed on concrete foundations which were constructed of pre-cast blocks built up to 4m high. The bridge itself consisted of two 9m long x 3m wide bridge decks complete with demountable handrails. Each deck was positioned to ensure wheel loads from delivery vehicles were best spread through each bridge section for complete safety and structure integrity. The site work was safely and efficiently completed 7 days
