As Principal Contractor we planned, managed, monitored and coordinated the construction works, health, safety and welfare of our own workers and also that of other contractors on site. Beaver Bridges prepared the Construction Phase Plan gathering all information from the client in connection with the project. We assessed the site, the services, highlighted any access issues, any hazards, welfare, and planned the resources required and how we would work together, effectively managing risks and maintaining an organised, clean, safe and tidy site.
Beaver Bridges integrated health, safety and welfare into the preparation and management of this construction project. This involved careful planning of each element from development stage; including build, installation, maintenance, end user and the safe removal or modification of the structure. We carefully monitored each step, taking into account the health and safety of everyone who was working on the project, albeit a remote site and those who came into contact with the site and surrounding area including deliveries etc. We kept the site safe and secure at all times, maintained direct lines of communication with our Client and Designer, consulting and sharing any relevant information with them and with our site team where relevant. Health and safety being at the forefront of our daily activities.
“Beaver Bridges supplied and installed two bridges both of which were to very high quality. The works involved the removal of two existing bridges and then the installation of the new bridges. The works were carried out to programme and with a high regard for health and safety.
The works also involved the management of delivery along an extremely tight route for oversized vehicles and they managed this effectively along with the necessary liaison with a number of neighbours”
