Beaver Bridges were awarded a project to supply, deliver and install a steel vehicle bridge to a windfarm in the Scottish Highlands. All projects of this nature require an extensive amount of planning to highlight any potential errors of concern, and the location of this project proved to provide a number of challenges due to its remote location. The vehicle bridge tendered was sized as 12m x 5m x 44te.
This first port of call for this project was to off-load the steel vehicle bridge, designed by Beaver Bridges. Once off-loaded, installation of the structure began. This was completed using the suspended load method, in this instance using two 360 excavators, operated in tandem lift configuration.
The designed vehicle bridge had been manufactured in two sections, to allow for more efficient installation. The delivery of the structures was on time, allowing for Beaver Bridges to commence work, and complete the full installation on time also. Working to our customers deadlines is of upmost importance to us, to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
