About / Meet The Team / Stephen Walsh
Stephen is Engineering Director at Beaver Bridges, promoted in early 2025 after leading the design office as Head of Engineering since joining in 2023. A Chartered Engineer, he oversees feasibility studies, detailed design, constructability reviews, fabrication accuracy, and quality assurance across every bridge project nationwide.
Guided by the maxim, “Design must be safe, fit-for-purpose and buildable,” Stephen combines deep technical insight with client-focused pragmatism. He works closely with project teams, fabrication engineers, and clients to ensure designs are accurate, achievable, and optimised for safety and sustainability. Clients value the confidence his rigorous checks and transparent communication provide, knowing that their bridges will be delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest engineering standard. Stephen’s approach balances innovation with practicality, applying cutting-edge design techniques while maintaining constructability and whole-life performance.
