The next era of Beaver Bridges is on the horizon, where here at Beaver Bridges, we get to finally align our long-term ambition with our ever-growing capability. Introducing Forge 44, a new purpose-built manufacturing facility that signals our intent for the future.

We’ve outgrown our previous facilities – the calibre of work we’ve been producing nationwide over the past decade has ensured we were always building for growth, and Forge 44 is the next step in the journey. Forge 44 isn’t just bigger than what came before, it’s been created to reflect what we need now and what we’ll need for the future.

Building for what comes next

The facility comprises two purpose-designed bays that mirror how we actually work. The primary production bay spans 28,000 square feet with an 8-metre under-hook height and 13-metre eaves height, dimensions that matter in ways most people never think about. That clearance lets us lift, turn and manipulate large bridge components safely and precisely. It gives our welders better working positions. It makes logistics faster and simpler. It removes unnecessary complexity from every part of the manufacturing process.

The second bay, at 14,000 square feet, gives us room to grow into. We’re already thinking about how it will serve blasting, painting and assembly operations – flexible capacity that doesn’t lock us into a single way of working. Because we build everything from small kit bridges to major structures, we need room to create bespoke solutions in-house.

What truly sets Forge 44 apart is its location. Situated on the A57 corridor with optimised access to the M6, we’ve solved a logistics problem that cost money and delays delivery: the movement of abnormal loads. Better logistics means fewer police escorts, simpler planning, faster delivery. For the businesses and communities relying on our bridges, that translates to clearer project timelines and better value.

Full capabilities under one roof

We’ve never believed in segmentation between design and build. Real quality comes when the people who engineer a structure work alongside the people who fabricate it, where every decision informed by practical experience and every fabrication informed by engineering insight.

Forge 44 physically embeds that philosophy. Between the two production bays sits a welfare unit for our workshop team. At the end of the facility, office space will house our engineering team alongside drawing office staff and hot desks for colleagues across our regional network.

The improved space will allow us to evolve our end-to-end solutions even further. Continuing to expand our team of experts and train the next wave of talent means faster iterations, better problem-solving and tighter control over the entire delivery chain.

Purpose built

Forge 44 is as exciting a prospect for our clients as it is for us. The streamlined efficiencies projected ensures we’re perfectly placed to take on larger and more complex schemes and offer clients better value.

But capacity is meaningless without purpose.

We chose this facility to ensure that bespoke engineering stays at the heart of what we do. By investing in our own people and facilities, we avoid the risks of outsourcing and maintain the strict quality control that complex bridging projects demand. We believe that having direct, hands-on control over the complete process is the only way to guarantee the excellence Beaver Bridges is renowned for.

Opening Forge 44’s doors

We’re already in motion. Steel has been delivered. Production has begun and we’re very excited to be officially opening the doors.

A new factory is just a building until the people inside it start building something remarkable.
