First Beaver Born in Shropshire in 400 Years.

Following our partnership with Shropshire Wildlife Trust on the reintroduction of beavers at the Old Riverbed in Shrewsbury, we’re delighted to share a historic moment for Shropshire’s natural heritage: Beryl & Bertie, the resident beavers, have welcomed a kit, the first to be born in the county in more than 400 years.

This is a remarkable milestone for wetland restoration, showcasing the power of nature recovery and partnership working. Beavers play a vital role in creating healthy ecosystems, improving water quality, boosting biodiversity, and building resilience against flooding and drought.

A truly extraordinary moment for Shropshire, and an initiative that we here at Beaver Bridges are extremely proud to be part of.
