Beaver Bridges Ltd was contracted to provide a full turnkey solution. The contract was provided by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and, as part of the full solution, required Beaver Bridges to provide expert bridge design, fabrication of the required structure and, finally, complete the installation of a series of bridges which made up part of the Hebridean Way project on the Isle of Harris.
Beaver Bridges provided 7 bridges as part of this full turnkey package. This service covered all aspects, from the design phase through to integrating health, safety and welfare into the planning and management of this project. This involved careful planning of each element from development stage; including build and installation. Site-specific inductions were carried out for all operatives, and we ensured that all team members involved had up-to-date training, the skills and competency to enable them to safely carry out their relevant tasks safely and efficiently, with great care and consideration given to the local environment and general site safety.
Beaver Bridges carefully monitored each step, taking into account the health and safety of everyone who was working on the project, albeit a remote site and those who came into contact with the site and surrounding area including deliveries etc. Beaver Bridges kept the site safe and secure at all times, maintained direct lines of communication with our client and bridge designer, consulting and sharing any relevant information with them and with our site team where relevant. Health and safety was at the forefront of our daily activities.
