Our Steel and Timber bridges are one of the most versatile and cost-effective bridge types we manufacture and are ideal for structures that require spans that range from 10m to 60m. They are economical, practical and suitable for use as pedestrian footbridges, bridle bridges, cycle bridges and for vehicle access bridges.
Our engineers are recognised for designing Steel and Timber pedestrian footbridges; structures that enhance and respond to their locations. We are resourceful with the site space that is available for these projects, and produce bridges that are enthusiastically embraced by the communities that use and enjoy them.
A timber fascia can be fitted to the steel beams to give the appearance of an all timber bridge. The fascia can be manufactured from hardwood or softwood, generally to match the timber on the deck and handrails. Beaver Bridges fully support economically viable forest management, and so make a conscious effort to ensure that all timber used in our bridge design and construction is from a (FSC) Forest Stewardship Council timber merchant.
The steel beams of the bridge can be flat or cambered, made from Corten, which is a type of weathered steel. This is galvanised or painted prior to fitting with a timber fascia.
The deck can be constructed from softwood, hardwood or even recycled FRP/GRP with Slip-Resistant Decking.
