Paddington Station Replacement Pedestrian Bridge – London, England

Programme

The replacement bridge consisted of a plate girder, steel transom and steel deck structure.  It was crucial to the client that the design and appearance was to exactly match the previous Victorian structure that Paddington Station was known for.

A programme of works was carried out during a full blockade of all lines coming in and out of Paddington Station. The programme was critical with the risks of any slippage having serious financial and operational consequences for both our Client and Network Rail.

All works were planned around a twelve hour shift pattern and were completed with one programmed shift remaining,  meaning we were able to effectively complete the project ahead of time, thus reducing any disruption to pedestrians and Network Rail.

We finished this project with all client criteria met, the project completed on time and performed safely.
