Llys Lane Footbridge Replacement – England, Shropshire

The Structure

The 21.5m by 2m curved steel beam footbridge had a HA Type II paint system with a polyurethane resin anti-skid deck surface. The parapets were 1.25m in height and consisted of 40 galvanised mesh panels with a pedestrian handrail.

The Project

This was a challenging project with a road closure and traffic management put in place whilst the existing redundant footbridge was removed in one piece using a 55t AC55 Road Rail Crane. Earlier enabling works freed the footbridge from its footings. The AC55 Road Rail Crane was again utilised to reinstate the new footbridge in one preassembled piece.
