Beaver Bridges were approached to create a unique, bespoke bridge for a client in Oxfordshire
The bridge needed to cross a Ha-Ha (dry moat) around a stately home. The bridge was not to impede on the views from the house and was to be retractable so as to maintain the integrity of the security for the house.
After some initial CAD and indemnification work a design was agreed and a timetable was put into place for manufacture, delivery and installation of this bridge. Beaver Bridges constructed a steel frame, steel sub base and steel docking station for the bridge. Mechanical gearing and running mechanism were manufactured and added to the bridge, this allowed the bridge to move in and out over the Ha-Ha. The bridge was finished in hardwood and the whole structure was painted and treated to prevent corrosion.
Beaver Bridges then transported the bridge and necessary equipment and installed the bridge at the house so it was ready to use. Final works included a timber frame around the docking station to soften the aesthetics in keeping with the surroundings.
